(1)Insert the narrow end of FLABAT device Into the test tube.

- Be sure the   device sits directly on top of the test tube during use, so  the narrow end isfacing straight down.

       Wear gloves when using FLABAT

(2)While holding the test tube and FLABAT device steady with one hand, insert the blood segment into FLABAT with the other hand, targeting the center of the device. Gently press until the needle has pierced the segment. Apply pressure to the segment, forcing blood into the test tube.

Do not squeeze until the needle has pierced the segment

(3)When the desired sample has been dispensed into the test tube, remove the blood segment and the FLABAT device. Properly dispose of both items in a designated hazardous medical waste container.
